Happy Quarter Birthday to me!!
Yesterday was the 13th of January 2012 and, as I was born on the 13th of October 2011, I decided to celebrate my first quarter of a year of life :-)
I had an extra long snooze during the day, and while I was sleeping, I dreamed about some of the new things that I've been up to lately.
Luckily, my Mummy and Daddy like to take lots of pictures of me when I try out new things.
I've been able to put them on here so that you can see for yourselves what my new experiences have been like.
Take last weekend, for example. My Mummy and Daddy decided to let me experience what it's like going to a swimming pool. They took me along for my very first swimming lesson at the Puddle Ducks club.
This picture shows me dressed up in my baby wet suit. I didn't quite know what to expect when I got in to the pool with all the other Puddle Ducks, so I was looking a wee bit apprehensive in this picture.
I needn't have worried, though, because my Mummy and Daddy said that I was great in the water - they were very proud of me!
I'm really looking forward to my next lesson, too. I want to get used to splashing about in a pool because when I'm nine months old (my three-quarter birthday!) I'm going on an airplane for a few weeks to a place called Spain to stay in a villa with its own pool. My Nana and Papa, my Uncle Brian, my Uncle Graeme and my Aunt Lyndsay will be there, too. I want to show them how much fun I can have spashing about ....maybe I'll even be swimming by that time :-)
Another new experience I had recently, was when my Mummy took me to meet a little friend.
I've met lots of baby friends before, but this time it was different because when we were lying on the rug together, she reached out and took my hand........ but what did I do?? I ate it!!
My Mummy thought it was funny, though. The picture of me eating it is a little fuzzy because she was shaking with laughter so much!
Seriously, though - what was I thinking!! I'm so mortified!!
I mean it's not as if I don't know how to shake hands with people. Look at this picture of me politely shaking hands with my Auntie Laura, for example, when I was up in Scotland at Christmas.
I blame the fact that my gums are driving me crazy at the moment.
I don't have any of these teeth things yet, but my Daddy tells me they will be handy for all the eating and chewing I'll enjoy doing when I'm a wee bit bigger.
My Daddy gives me lots of advice.
Even when I'm sleeping, he has fun telling me about all the great new experiences I've yet to encounter.
He also tells me not to worry too much about making mistakes sometimes because my Mummy and him will always love me no matter what I do.
That's nice to hear.... now what can I get up to next.
A wee bit of mischief, perhaps?
Maybe :-)
