I'm Five Now!!

Well, I knew life would get busy once I started school and turned five.

I didn't realise how busy, though, so that's why it's taken me so long to catch up with my blog.

Do you like my picture? It was taken in the science museum in London.

Visiting there is just one of the exciting things I've been up to.

Have a look at the photo-story below to catch up with all the action packed activities I've been involved in .... and there's lots of news from Theo and Bella as well.

Holidays.... and Exciting News!

Hello again, everyone!

I thought that it was time I let you know what Theo, Bella and I have been up to.

As you can see from this picture, I spent some of the summer catching up with my little cousin Bella and my relatives in Scotland.

It was a really exciting visit, because my mummy and daddy went back home to Manchester and left Theo and me at nana and papa's house.

We had great fun every day and went on lots of trips.

We also spent time with Uncle Graeme and Auntie Lyndsay.

Theo really liked playing with Bella's bubble machine.

There were lots of bubbles!

Have a look :-)

Nana made sure that we let mummy and daddy know how we were getting on. We sent them videos every day so that they wouldn't be too sad without us.

Have a look at some of them.

Theo and I enjoyed spending time with nana and papa.

Bella loves to spend time with them as well.

Here's a picture of Bella and nana at the playpark.

When Bella is with nana and papa, they always make sure that they send her mummy and daddy messages as well.

Have a look at some of the recent ones here.

When Theo and I got back home to Manchester, there was lots of summer work to do in our family allotment.

We're getting to be quite expert at looking after all the plants.

These picture show how hard we work when we're there .... but look at the fabulous strawberries we collected that day.

Yummy!!

It has been a very exciting summer because just a few weeks ago we set off for a holiday in Wales with my friend Isabella and her family.

My grandad came along too and we had the most amazing time.

The weather was awesome as well!

Have a look at the beautiful pictures we took to remind us of our great holiday :-)

Our wee cousin Bella wasn't with us on that holiday, but nana and papa told us that she's very excited because her mummy and daddy are taking her on holiday next week.

She's been trying on some of her new outfits before she goes.

She's so lucky!

Now for the Exciting News!!

Can you guess what it is? Yes, that's right - I've started school!!
I've only been there for a couple of days, but I'm really enjoying it. Can you tell? :-)

Theo has exciting news as well! He's moved up to the big boys' and girls' room at nursery. He doesn't have a uniform like me, so he thought he'd show everyone how grown-up he's becoming by walking about in daddy's shoes :-)

Well, that's all I have time for in this post.

Theo and I are off to spend the night in our new bunk beds.

We really are growing up fast! :-)

Sorry About the Wait!

Well, I have been meaning to post about what we've been up to for a very long time now.

The trouble is that, every time I started to write this blog post, some other exciting thing happened and I had to put it off.

I love getting a bit older, but I'm learning that the older I get, the more full my diary gets!

I've finally managed to take some time out from my busy life to let you all catch-up.

I'll begin with our visit to Scotland.

My nana and papa thought it would be a good idea for me and Theo to spend some time with them. Before we came, my nana helped our wee cousin Bella to send a message to us.

Have a look.

We were really looking forward to our trip because daddy was going to drop me and my brother off at nana and papa's house, then drive back home to Manchester.

Just before we set off, though, nana phoned daddy to say something sad had happened - auntie Pat had died.

Theo and I loved auntie Pat and we were very sad too.

When we got to Scotland, daddy decided to stay there a bit longer so that he could go to auntie Pat's funeral.

Theo and I went along to the funeral as well. Everybody we know loved auntie Pat and there were lots and lots of people there. My daddy wanted to say something special about her.

Have a listen.

.
Daddy went back home to Manchester after the funeral - and Theo and I had a really fun time catching up with all our Scottish relatives.

Soon it was time for nana and papa to take us back home.

It was a long journey, but Theo and I were very well behaved.

Our mummy and daddy were very pleased to see us, but they told us that we needed to get back down to the allotment to help out.

Growing your own fruit and vegetables is hard work, but we don't mind because the food we grow is very yummy!

We had to make sure the allotment was especially well looked after that weekend for another reason.

We were heading back up to Scotland in just a few days for auntie Laura's wedding!

I loved it - and I loved wearing a Scottish kilt again.

Everyone had such a fun time!

Have a look at some of the photographs.

My daddy chatted with me about the wedding.

Have a listen!

When we got back home after the wedding, mummy told us that there was even more excitement to come.

We all had to pack our summer clothes because we were going on an aeroplane to Greece!

Four of our friends (two for me and two for Theo) were coming with their mums and dads as well.

Here's a picture of us heading off to catch our plane.

We had such a fun time there .... but one thing made us a wee bit sad.

We missed our wee cousin Bella's first birthday party.

We heard all about it when we came home, though.

It looked like Bella had a lovely day - starting from the minute she woke up.

Have a look.

Her birthday cake looked yummy.

When mummy showed us a picture of it, we told her that we were sad that we hadn't been able to come along.

But, that's when we found out the amazing news!

Bella was coming to visit us in Manchester!

We were so excited that we almost jumped out of our car seats when daddy told us the news!

A week later she arrived with her mummy and daddy.

Theo was very happy to show her around all the favourite places we like to visit on a sunny day.

I think he was feeling quite grown up when she was around.

We had such fun playing hide and seek with her.

Can you see Bella and her daddy trying to find us?

I think it was our giggling that gave us away. We giggled even louder when she found us!

I liked showing uncle Graeme how to make pizzas.

Pizzas are one of my favourite foods and my daddy has taught me how to make really good ones.

Uncle Graeme watched how I made mine, but he was so hungry that he didn't even want to wait until it was cooked.

I think he likes food almost as much as my brother Theo.

What do you think?

We loved having a visit from Bella and her mum and dad and it was sad when we had to say goodbye to them.

But - guess what happened the very next weekend?

Uncle Brian came all the way from Scotland to visit us as well!

We enjoyed showing him our new playroom.

He was very interested in all our toys and books. We spent hours chatting and learning together :-)

Theo and I were a bit sad when all our Scottish relatives had gone home, so daddy thought that he'd cheer us up with a visit to the zoo.

We made a list of all the animals than we might see there.

We thought it might be a good idea to take the list along and tick each animal off if we spotted them.

Guess what? We managed to tick off every one of them!

Here's a picture of me and Theo having a good look at the elephants.

Awesome!!

Phew - I told you that I'd been too busy to write.

So busy that I almost forgot to tell you about our trip to Wales. Here's a wee clip of us playing in the woods.

Well - that's all for now.

Theo and I have a trip to Scotland planned soon.

I'll try to write a blog post about our adventures there .... before our next Scottish wedding.

Watch this space!

It's Been A While!

Hello again everyone!

I'm sorry it's been so long since the last time I wrote a blog post. Life has been so busy that I just couldn't find the time. Anyway - here I am with all our news.

There's so much to tell you, that I've decided to break this blog post into four parts: Christmas 2015; New Year in Scotland; Theo's 2nd Birthday Celebration; Recent News.

  • Christmas 2016
Do you like our festive Christmas jumpers? Nana bought them for us.

We knew some exciting times were coming up because we were making decorations at nursery and there was even a Christmas party to go to.

Exciting things were happening at home as well, though.

Theo and I helped mummy and daddy to put up our Christmas tree.

It looked really beautiful and we all spent a long time just looking at it when we lit up all the pretty lights.

After the tree was up, there were lots of other things to organise.

For example, when we finished our Saturday Rugby Tots class, daddy said we needed to go shopping for some things so that we could have a really nice Christmas dinner.

We also needed some ingredients so that we could help mummy make our Christmas cookies.

Making them was so much fun, but we also had to be very careful when we were cutting out the shapes.

Theo and I listened as mummy told us what to do.

They turned out really well - sorry there's no picture (they didn't last long enough to take any!)

At last it was the day we'd been waiting for. Theo and I were so excited when we woke up and saw all the presents Santa had left for us. Daddy thought it would be a nice idea to share some of our excitement with Nana and Papa in Scotland. We sent this video to Nana so that she could tell Papa that we were thinking of them :-)

Merry Christmas Nana! from mvass on Vimeo.

After all the excitement of opening the presents, it was time to make Christmas dinner.

Our Grandma and Grandad came to celebrate with us.

Theo loves everything to do with food, so he insisted on helping make some of it on our own little kitchen cooker.

I let him borrow my chef's outfit. He felt very at home in it - I think he might grow up to be one of those TV chefs.

Up in Scotland, my wee cousin Bella met the man himself!

Here's a picture of her on Santa's knee.

She looks like she was listening very carefully to what he had to say.

He must have visited her house as well, because she woke up to lots of presents!

My nana popped into her house on Christmas morning to help her open some of them.

I think she's going to love books just as much as me and Theo.

Uncle Brian popped in to visit her as well.

He bought her a really cute reindeer hat ... and it was a perfect match for the little booties she was wearing that morning :-).

It seems everyone in Scotland had as nice a Christmas as we did here in Manchester.

Soon it was time for my family to start packing for a trip to see them all.

  • New Year in Scotland
My family had a lovely time catching up with all our Scottish relatives - and what made even more special was that Santa had left presents for us all in Nana and Papa's house!

Theo was the first to notice that there were parcels lying around just like there had been on Christmas day in our own house.

We were very excited when we realised that some of the presents were for us!

We had such fun opening them to find out what was inside.

In fact, we had such fun during our whole visit there.

So much happened that it would take too long to tell you about it all.

Instead, I've included a video of just some of the highlights. Have a look!

Here's a final picture of Theo and I having lunch in our little house in Papa's back garden.

We'll be back in Scotland soon :-)

  •  Theo's 2nd Birthday Celebration
Theo is 2 years old now and he had a great party at our house to celebrate.

His friends from nursery all came join in the fun.

Some of them brought their big brothers and sisters along, which was great because I knew all of them from my nursery class.

Here's a picture of some of us enjoying snack time together.

Theo decided to have a quiet snack time in the hall with Nana.

Theo loves to be around his friends, but he enjoys some quiet time, too.

Here's a picture of him playing alongside one of his friends in our new playroom.

Theo and I just love it in there - there's so much to do!

It's great now that Theo is getting a bit older, because we spend lots of time playing together now. Here's a video of some of the fun times we've shared recently.

We even play at being Superheroes together.

here's a picture of us learning how to fly!

We haven't quite mastered the flying bit yet, but I'm getting quite good at some of the other attributes. My daddy recorded me being Iron Man!

Our cousin Bella wasn't at Theo's party, but uncle Graeme helped her to send a Happy Birthday message to him. Have a look. We'll see you soon, Bella :-)

  •  Recent News
I have one more exciting story to share with you.

Recently, it was my turn to have Barnaby Bear home from nursery.

Everybody gets a turn to take him on some adventures and then we take him back to nursery to share what he's been up to.

Theo and I were very excited, but we knew exactly where to take him the next day.

I packed him into my bag to keep him cosy and we set off down the road towards the tram stop.

When we got to our destination, we sat on some steps and waited for my daddy to come and meet us.

We were at daddy's work - and he works somewhere that we just knew Barnaby was going to have lots of very exciting adventures.

We were at the BBC building in Manchester where there are lots and lots of famous characters.

Daddy said that Theo and I had to wear special badges so that everyone in the building knew that we were allowed to be there.

Soon it was time to set off to introduce Barnaby to some of the famous characters.

Here we are meeting just a few of them - do you recognise anyone?

I'm off now to get organised for a very special trip I'm going on soon.

Guess what?

Theo and I are off on a trip to Scotland ... just the two of us!

We're going to stay at Nana and Papa's house and we'll be able to catch up with all our Scottish relatives while we're there.

We can't wait!

Here's a wee update on how our wee cousin Bella is doing.

We're looking forward to seeing her in person in a couple of weeks.

Bye everyone ... and watch this space for news of our Scottish adventures soon :-)
